Sport Student Tours To Vanuatu Sport is an important part of the lives for ni-Vanuatu children. These children don't have the same access to television, movies, video/computer games that our children are accustomed to so sport is pretty much the only leisure activity. Sports played include soccer, rugby, cricket, and volleyball. We like to include a 'fun' sporting activity with a local school for all study tours but tours based around sporting activities can also be arranged. Our two main 'on-the-ground' itinerary coordinators are very sports orientated. Harry Atisson, owner of Friendly Tours, is Vanuatu's only FIFA soccer referee and can organise games with both local teams and schools. Harry is a delightful ni-Vanuatu guy (also a radio and television sports broadcaster) who is fluent in both English and French. Pascal Guillet, owner of Vanuatu Ecotours, is also French/English fluent and was a PE teacher for 15 years prior to setting up his ecotour business. Pascal can arrange sports competition with a number of schools including the Lyceé française de Port Vila and Montmartre school. The French, of course, have no knowledge of, or interest in cricket but matches against expatriate/local teams can be organised. Understandably, local sporting teams in Vanuatu would love to travel to abroad for sport and to experience another country but to make this a reality the support of a school in Australia or New Zealand is needed (billeting, accommodation, fundraising) for this to happen. Email us for more information or for details on an obligation-free Expression of Interest afternoon/evening.
